ATLANTIC HALL STUDENTS DRAG UCC TO COURT
Following the unfortunate disturbances that occurred
at the university of Cape Coast between students of Oguaa Hall and that of
Atlantic Hall earlier on in March this year during a programe organized by the
latter, The Management of the university has rusticated some 21 students from
Atlantic Hall believed to have caused the riot that damaged property to the
halls and school.
In a statement released from the leadership of Atlantic
Hall Alumni Association (AHAA) in response to this development has expressed
their deepest sadness at the decision arrived at by the University Management.
They indicated that this unfortunate decision by the Management of the
University was only meant to absorb itself of blame and with the help of a one
sided media made the world believe the students themselves caused their own
mess. The Association is further convinced that, the method adopted by the
University’s Management on resolving the conflict is illogical, very deficient
with common sense and colloquial. They wish to make certain facts clear to the
general public by this release. Meanwhile leadership of
AHAA has resorted to legal process and will duly Institute the legal process on
Monday if the University acts recalcitrant and does not recall their
rustication.

NDC manifesto: Students to receive tablets - Mahama [ In this Era of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram?]
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has plans to dish out tablet devices to students at the Senior High level in a pilot programme aimed at helping to boost their competences in core subjects, according to President John Mahama. But, I have some concerns. Is the distribution of the tablets with their core subjects on them the best way in this era where Facebook, twitter, and instagram the orders of the day? Will the students use these devices for education purposes as originally planned? Even when smartphones phones are supposedly banned from senior high schools, some students sneak in with them. Though It's a very good Idea, I think it should be looked at again.
