I couldn't believe this the first time that, Black babies were used as baits to capture Alligators. This horrific act in fact ever happened in the 1800s and early 1900s. Sadly babies of black slave women were stolen to do this. If this were a movie, i bet it would never had seen the light of day. TERRIBLE!! [ Watch this Video after the cut ]

On This Day in 2008: Ghana's Then Finance Minister Hon. Kwadwo Baah Wiredu Passed Away

On September 24, 2008, Baah Wiredu died in South Africa where he had been receiving medical treatment for a short illness. We remember your good work and service to your Country. RIP Honourable.

Video: Today In Ghana's History: Dr. Hilla Limann Takes Over Power from Flt-Lt J.J Rawlings

On September 24th, 1979, Dr. Hilla Limann of PNP took over power from Flt-Lt. Jerry John Rawlings of AFRC. Dr. Limann went on to become the only President of Ghana for the Third Republic. In Decemeber 1981, Dr. Limann's Government was overthrown by Rawlings after his government failed to perform.

Today in History- Remembering Proff. John Evans Atta Mills, 4 Years after Passing away

On this day four years ago, the people of Ghana experienced one of those moments in our history that we wish we could have forgotten so early but cannot. On the 24th day of July 2012, news broke out of the passing away of the then First Gentleman of our land. Never had this occurred in the history of our country.
Several high profile dignitaries today (Sunday), laid wreaths on the tomb of  Atta Mills at the Asomdwee Park in Accra.

Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley, was a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist who achieved international fame and acclaim.Starting out in 1963 with the group The Wailers, he forged a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that would later resonate with audiences worldwide. Diagnosed with a type of malignant melanoma in 1977, Marley died on 11 May 1981 exactly 35 years today in Miami at the age of 36. Read more here

Today In History: 1994 Beckwith convicted of killing Medgar Evers

On this day in 1994, white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith is convicted in the murder of African-American civil rights leader Medgar Evers, over 30 years after the crime occurred.

Evers was gunned down in the driveway of his Jackson, Mississippi, home on June 12, 1963, while his wife, Myrlie, and the couple’s three small children were inside.
