Gay Couple: Tom Daley, 21, announces his engagement to long-term boyfriend Dustin Lance Black, 41, after two years of dating

Engaged: Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black
Tom Daley and his boyfriend Dustin Lance Black have announced their engagement.
The long-term couple went under the radar by subtly registering the news in the back of The Times newspaper on Thursday morning.

Tom and Dustin have now been together for two years, after the Olympic bronze medal winning diver came out via YouTube in December 2013.

Their announcement in the Births, Marriages and Death section read: 'The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence.'

Tom broadcast an impassioned message to his fans in December 2013 when he explained that he had begun a relationship with another man.
In an intimate to-camera post from his bedroom, the brave diver said at the time: 'In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy.'

The 21-year-old, who was 19 at the time of the announcement, said he had been 'taken by surprise' when he fell for Dustin, but went on to say that it 'just felt right.'
The diver, who had heterosexual relationships as a teenager, said that he still fancied girls at the time but revealed in April 2014 that he was in fact not bisexual, but a gay man.
