The chief of Atwima Koforidua in the Ashanti Region has been gunned down by unknown assailants.
Nana Edusa Gyapong II was shot and killed Monday morning by unknown assailants at the outskirts of New Site, a suburb of Atwima Koforidua.
According to reports, the chief had bent down to change a punctured tyre when the unknown gunmen opened fire on him.
The family of the murdered chief are demanding immediate investigation into what they describe as brutal murder of the leader.
Spokesperson of the family Serwa Akoto claimed the late chief was murdered because of land related disputes.
Meanwhile, Abuakwa Police Commander, Joseph Anyaaba has promised the late chief’s family that his outfit would leave no stone unturned in their bid to apprehend his killers.
